We were founded on 26th February 1831 in France.  Our Mother House is in Normandy.  Our Mother Foundress came to England in  1848. She lived in our house at Norwood for 10 years and also passed away at Norwood.  Her remains  were taken to La Delivrande, the Mother House, where she is buried in the Cemetary there. We received a wonderful legacy from Mother Saint Mary in her plan of Education which was well ahead of her time and is used very effectively today.

The main philisophy is:

"Give them the will to do well and you will have gained everything."

We are the second house of the Congregation and we are honoured because our Foundress Mother Saint Mary worked here and died here also.  There is a Chapel dedicated to her. 

Here at Upper Norwood there are several works:  

The Church of the Faithful Virgin 

Saint Mary’s Family Centre

and the Convent.
